ConnectSecure Essentials Getting Started Guide

Use the ‘checklist’ below to guide yourself through the essentials flowchart and streamline your deployment.

Company Creation - first, you need to get your companies created in CyberCNS. You can do this manually or use a supported PSA integration and import them. Check out the video to see this done, or you can visit our 'Integrations' page to see the step-by-step guides for each PSA integration. Generally, you will create include your own internal company, your customers, and any test companies. After you are up and running with the tool, you can leverage our ‘Sales Toolkit / Assessment View ’ to also bring in prospects, leads, or any potential new customers.
Install CyberCNS Agent - deploy the CyberCNS agents to your endpoints. We provide the pre-built scripts for easy deployment using your RMM tools or any other scripting platforms. Two main agent types will be used when deploying which include the probe or lightweight agent.

Lightweight Agent - most widely used and should be installed on all endpoints for continuous vulnerability scanning and remediations; not needed if a Probe is installed on the endpoint.

Probe Agent - would recommend one probe per network; this agent has the same functions as the lightweight agent but also offers additional network asset discovery (probe) capabilities.

Note: Discovery Settings are required on the Probe Agent to successfully scan; please check out the ‘Discovery Settings’ document for detailed information on how to configure or check our the YouTube video library at www.connectsecure.com/videos

Note: Check out the Supported Versions page to see a list of supported operating system builds, which include Microsoft Windows, MAC, Linux, and ARM (Raspberry PI) operating systems.

Configure a Scheduler - use a scheduler to configure the automatic scan jobs for all agents so the vulnerability data is updated regularly and no need to wait for manual scans. You can always initiate a manual scan any time you want.
Remediation Plan - Check the remediation plan to view the discovered vulnerabilities, which include missing operating system patches, out of date applications, and any application baseline rules that are applied. These items should be raising tickets within your integrated PSA or sending alerts via email / webhook so you have the data to report on and can be proactively managing remediations.
Vulnerabilities - Use this view to see all company or global level vulnerabilities by operating system, severity, and CVEID. You can drill through each of the listed categories by clicking down to get to the details.
Ticket Creation - Take advantage of CyberCNS integrations with PSA tools and send your choice of alerts from CyberCNS through to your ticketing systems. Define your priorities, statuses, types, and more. We have a full listing located here for supported ticketing systems.
Third Party Patching - keep third-party applications updated with CyberCNS patching engine, which supports over 500+ applications. You can find that full list here: Third-party patching applications
Reporting - See your data with CyberCNS reporting options, which include Standard Reports, Report Customization, Report Builder, and our Overview Dashboards. All reports can be completely while-labeled and customized from the ground up.
