CyberCNS has an ability to set up alerting

  • The Notification Rules ability is disabled now and cannot be edited. ( effective from 2-March-2023)

  • For already set Notification Rules please note that the Notification Rules have been disabled now and cannot be edited.

  • We have migrated the existing Notification Rules to Event Set & Integration Profile in the new format and mapped it to the companies which it was applying to earlier.

  • For any issues with alerting, please contact support@cybercns.com and we will resolve it ASAP.

  • Navigate to the Global View

  • Make sure that the credentials are added for the selected Integration. If not then please refer to the documentation which explains how to do so for each Integration.

eg. ConnectWise Integration

  • If Credentials are already set up for the selected integration, please proceed further as below.

  • Select the Company Mapping tab. This tabs will be enabled or seen only if the selected integration has the ability to receive notification via PSA, email or supported notifications channel.

  • Under Company mapping, there are Event Set, Integration Profile & Manage Company Mapping.

  • The Event Set allows to create different event sets for events that can be applied the same setting on and mapping to an integration.

  • Name the event set and select the events to be applied to similar setting for chosen integration.

  • Click the Save button to save successfully.

  • This way similar kind of events can be grouped to provide a similar settings.

Remediation Event Set

  • Remediation Event Set has five grouping mechanism to help create an alert.

  • “Remediation By Company“, “Remediation By Asset“, “Remediation By Product“, “Remediation By Asset and Product“.

  • Out of above four only one can be selected and it is recommended to select only 1 event for one company.

  • Remediation By Company - Groups the remediations by company and sends a single alert. If you are using a PSA then it will create a single alert for all the remediations in that company.

  • Remediation By Asset - Groups the remediations by Asset.

  • Remediation By Product - Groups the remediations by Product for the company.

  • Remediation By Asset and Product - Creates individual alert for each and every remediation.

Please note that for the ticketing system like ConnectWise, then “Remediation By Asset and Product” it can create a huge number of tickets.

This depends on individual use case and interest of the User.

  • “Enable Remediations for Critical and High severity” - This can be grouped with either of the first four to receive alerts for Remediations with high and critical severity.

Integrations Profile

  • Integrations Rules can be set under this tab.

  • Click on +Add to add a new Integration Rule.

  • Provide data like name, Credentials to be used and service board details and click on the Save button to save it successfully.

Manage Company Mapping

  • Next step is to map the companies to use the event set and integration rules set.

  • Navigate to Manage Company Mapping tab.

  • Click on the +Add to add a new company mapping.

  • If you already have the company mapping that you want to apply the event set and integration profile to then click on Edit in the Action menu.

  • Select the Event Set and the Integration Profile in the Update Company Mapping section and click on update.

  • Once all is set, the alerts will be enabled for mapped company/ies.

Updates on existing Rules:

If there are any edit/s or update/s on the type of the event set then the alert is changed. Below is the example:

Earlier: Remediation By Asset ( Remediation event set saved)

Now: Remediation By Product ( Remediation event set changed)

Change: The old tickets for Remediation By Asset will be closed by CyberCNS and new tickets for Remediation By Product will be created for the company.
