Netalytics Setup Guide

When you access your Netalytics instance in your web browser for the first time, you will see the Netalytics Setup Wizard. This is a series of screens which will prompt you to supply site information to install agent, and some default values to scan for your Netalytics instance. It will also offer some more advanced options for setting up SNMP, Active Directory Credentials, IP Ranges information.

1. Prerequisite

Allow below ports access to <your_company_name>.my-netalytics.com.

  • Outbound Ports

    • TCP - 443, 4506, 4505

  • Inbound Ports

    • TCP - 443 4505, 4506

2. Start the setup wizard

  1. Preferably choose the Windows endpoint/VM machine in which you are going to install an agent. And it has full reachability to the desired network you want to scan.

  2. Login to your netalytics instance (https://<your_company_name>.my-netalytics.com/) in your Windows workstation/VM.

  3. After login setup wizard automatically will show up.

3. Choose your installation type and apps

At this stage, You can opt to install with an existing Company or Create a New Company.

New Company

Set up your company, you need to enter the company name and the site information here, All the Vulnerability/Compliance assessments are organized into Sites/Company. A site/company can be a physical location or a logical grouping, such as a customer.
 

Existing Company

Choose the existing company and the site information here, All the Vulnerability/Compliance assessments are organized into Sites/Company. A site/company can be a physical location or a logical grouping, such as a customer.

 

4. Agent Configuration

In this step, you'll install the agent on Windows endpoint which has full reachability to the desired network you want to scan.

  • Windows Agent Installation

Step 1:

Click the Download Agent button and run the exe once it's downloaded.

Step 2:

Enable - I agree the Agreement → Click Next

Step 3:

Click next, and it will prompt you to enter the Server and Secret code. Which you can copy from the above step and paste it here

Step 4:

Click on I agree

 

Npcap Installation

Step 1:

Click on I Agree

Step 2:

Click on all the radio button → Install

Step 3:

This authentication and configuration process will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes.

Note:

  • Will get an Email notification once Configuration is successfully completed.

  • keep the SNMP and Servers/Workstation credentials ready

Step 1:

 

Now you can see the configuration is in progress message

Step 2:

 

Post that you will see Successfully Configured message.

5. Asset Configuration

Scan All Assets - Recommended Settings.

If you have any specific IP Ranges, SNMP Read/Write strings and Master Credentials you can un-check the Scan All Assets checkbox. Please add the IP Ranges and click next.

6. Setup Summary

You will see the site status and discovery settings status here. Click Finish to star the scanning process. It may take approximately 10 - 15 minutes. And a stats email will be sent to the current logged in user’s email, once the scan is completed.
