New Trial Setup

NOTE: This only applies if you are signing up for a brand new instance of ConnectSecure using the Free Trial Sign Up page found here: https://connectsecure.com/free-trial

If you had a previous ConnectSecure tenant associated with your email domain; please send email to accountmanager@connectsecure.com to get reactivated.

Complete all required fields and tap the submit button to create your free trial.

Getting Started Wizard

Upon successful login to your new ConnectSecure portal, you will be presented with the initial onboarding wizard that guides you through an initial setup.

You can trigger the onboarding screen by going to https://portal.myconnectsecure.com/onboarding once you are logged into the application.

To get started, click on the Begin Setup button.

Create Company and Set Timezone

Enter a Company Name and Timezone, then tap Create Profile & Continue. This will create your first tenant in the portal.

Install Lightweight Agent

You will now see the ConnectSecure Vulnerability Scan Agent (Lightweight Agent) installation instructions and resources.

This includes a link to the documentation and your agent installer for the company you just created. Each company has a unique agent installer to associate agents to the company.

Select the operating system of the target asset.

Click on Copy to clipboard to copy the command-line installation parameters directly from the window.

The command-link needs to be elevated to Administrator when running the installation scripts for Windows, MAC, or Linux assets.

Paste and run the script to install the agent.

Upon successful installation the agent services should automatically start up and your portal will reflect the new agent.

You can then tap on the Begin Lightweight Agent scan by clicking the button.

The asset scan can take up to 15 minutes for larger systems. The progress screen will show the scan progress and estimated completion.

While scanning is taking place, you can click on the Next button to see additional guided steps towards additional capabilities. The scanning progress will be shown as seen here.

Recommended Modules

There are additional scanning capabilities you can configure that include:

  1. Attack Surface Mapper

  2. External Scan

  3. Probe (Internal Network Scanning)

Below this you will see your Progress Score section that highlights progress as you complete the milestone items mentioned above.

The last section is for Setup Progress where you will see overall total progress.

SKIP TO FINISH

If you wish to continue on without the additional modules, you can click on the Skip to Finish button once the lightweight agent scan is done processing.

This will reveal your percentage complete, progress score, and module count. You can download the scan report and complete the first-time wizard.

Otherwise, clicking on complete will bring you to the default overview of the portal.
