Company Agents - Overview

This is your view of the selected company Agents, categorized into Lightweight, Probe, and Deprecated.

Agent Type

Description

Lightweight Agent

Installs on the local asset; scans local asset only

Probe Agent

Scans local asset and network(s) based on Discovery Settings mapped

Deprecated Agent

Inactive agents, no longer active or being scanned; historical data available


Company Agents - Details

Agent Action Commands

The agent three-dot Action menu contains prebuilt agent commands for maintenance and troubleshooting; tap the three-dot to see access and tap the commands to execute:

Action

Description

Map Discovery & Credentials

Stores the settings required for agent conversion to probe.

Reset Agent Configuration

Reset AD Data - clears out the Active Directory collected from the probe agent and rescans and reuploads new portal data.

Update Agent - forces an update of the ConnectSecure Agent version.

Reset Agent - clears agent data from the portal and resyncs new data after completing a new scan.

Dependency Status

Displays the status of the required agent dependencies; this may vary based on the agent type and operating system.

Scan

Choose from the scan type drop-down to start a manual scan.

Uninstall

Starts uninstall of the ConnectSecure agent; requires the asset is online.

Deprecate

Starts deprecation of the active asset agent.

Start Debug

Enables the debug mode (used with support only).

End Debug

Disables the debug mode (used with support only).

Fetch Logs

Initiates a request to fetch the local logs from the agent.

Restart Agent

Restarts the CyberCNSAgent service.

Download Logs

Downloads the requested local logs from the agent.


The company lightweight agent menu is where you will access the company agent download options:

Agent Download

Tap on the desired operating system to obtain the installation options for the selected company agent.

Windows

Supported installation methods include the following.

  1. EXE is a standard Windows executable option. You can obtain it with the download button, and it will display as a ‘cybercnsagent.exe’ Windows application.

  1. MSI is a standard Microsoft Software Installer file type most commonly used for GPO and enterprise application deployments where ‘msiexec’ command is available. Will display as ‘cybercnsagent.msi'.

  1. Web Installer is a standard Windows application that displays as ‘cybercns_webinstaller_CompanID#.exe’. This method will need to be ‘run as administrator’, which launches the Windows command prompt and performs the agent installation.

  1. PowerShell - A standard Microsoft PowerShell command script is provided; you can copy manually by selecting all the text in the box or tap “Copy to clipboard” for an easy one-tap copy. Run this command as administrator from PowerShell to install the agent.

  1. Scan (One-Time No Agent) - tap the Scan option and follow the on-screen instructions.

MAC

  1. PKG - Select the Exe option, then tap the Download button. This will download and display as ‘cybercnsagent_darwin.pkg’ and is ready for installation in supported MACOS.

  1. Terminal (Command Line) - Select the ‘Copy to clipboard’ button OR copy the terminal command manually. To install, use the following commands.

  1. sudo su

  2. sudo installer -pkg ./cybercnsagent_darwin.pkg -target /; sudo /opt/install.sh -c xxx -e xxx-j xxx -i

NOTE: The xxx values need to be replaced with the values from your company installer screen.

  • -c = Company ID

  • -e = Tenant ID

  • -j = User Secret

  1. Scan (One-Time, No Agent) - tap the Scan option and follow the on-screen instructions. This option will run a one-time scan on the asset and upload data to the portal. No continuous scanning is available, and no agent is installed.

Linux

  1. PKG - Select the Exe option, then tap the Download button. This will download and display as ‘cybercnsagent_linux’ and is ready for installation in supported Linux OS.

  1. Terminal (Command Line) - Select the ‘Copy to clipboard’ button and run commands from terminal.

Launch Terminal

  1. su root

  2. paste in the copied clipboard script for install

NOTE: Both 64 and 32-bit versions of ARM are supported

You can download the installation fil; download will display as ‘cybercnsagent_arm’.

Otherwise, tap the copy to the clipboard and run from the command line using the terminal.

Discovery

This is where you store the company-based network discovery settings and credentials used with the probe agent for asset discovery and network scanning.

Supported address types for Discovery Settings include:

Most commonly used for probe scanning, allows you to scan a full set of host addresses based on the subnet mask configured

Tap on the Add next to the section to enter new data.

Bulk Upload

Tap on the bulk upload option and download our template if you need to mass-add settings:

Edit or Delete

Tap the three-dot Action menu next to any existing record to Edit or Delete.
