What is a PII Scan Profile? 🤔

This is where you can set up the parameters for the ConnectSecure agent(s) to scan for PII, specify the scan criteria, and determine the file types to be scanned.

Global PII Scan Profile - Overview

Let's start by configuring the profile needed to initiate a scan for Personally Identifiable Information (PII). You'll find a table containing the existing scanning profiles. By default, there are none available, you can use the ‘Add Scan Profile’ button to create your first one.

  1. Add Scan Profile - tap here to add a new scan profile that defines the scanning parameters.

  2. Initiate Scan - starts a PII scan on the selected asset(s).

  3. Edit Scan Profile - edit an existing scan profile; it requires one selected scan profile.

  4. Remove Scan Profile - remove an existing scan profile; it requires one to make a selection at a time.

  5. Jobs - view historical and active job data across all companies.

  6. Alerts - tap to view the alert's timeline style.

  7. Dashboard - tap to be redirected to the external dashboard site.

Add Scan Profile

Tap on the ‘Add Scan Profile’ button to get started.

You will then have to complete the required fields for the PII scanning parameters, which include:

Name

Give the PII scanning profile a name.

Scan Type

Select the type of PII data you want to scan for with this profile. Data types include the following.

Bank Account Number

IP Address

Credit Card

MAC Address

Date of Birth

OAuth Token

Driving License

Phone

Email

Social Security Number

Default Extension Type

By default, the PII scan will scan the following extension types.

Choose Company

Select a company from the drop-down menu to associate with the scan profile.

Choose Agent

Select an agent from the drop-down menu to associate with the scan profile.

Source Type

Files will be auto-selected for you; there are currently no other choices.

Path Settings

Define the included and/or excluded path locations that the scanning parameters. This can include wildcard locations using the '*' when searching. You can add as many locations as needed or just search the entire storage/partition.
